Ovarian Cysts

There are many types of ovarian cysts. We will investigate, monitor and treat (including surgery if needed) a range of ovarian cysts. - Functional or follicular cyst. Naturally developing cysts as a result of ovulation and normal changes in the ovary. - Persistent ovarian cysts (simple or complex). Most ovarian cysts are bengin, but can still grow quite large and cause pain and problems. - Haemorrhagic cyst. Ovulation can sometimes be very traumatic for the ovary and may cause bleeding from the ovary or bleeding into the ovary (haemorrhagic cyst). - Dermoid cyst. Usually a benign growth on the ovary that contains hair, fat and teeth. - Ovarian torsion. When an ovarian cyst twists on itself causing severe pain. - Endometriotic cysts, called endometriomas or 'chocolate cysts', is when endometriosis grows on the ovary. - Ovarian Cancer affects 1 in 85 women in their lifetime (compared with 1 in 7 women affected with breast cancer).

Menstrual

Treatment and management of menstrual concerns. Heavy menstrual bleeding, or heavy periods, can make a significant impact on a women's life. We can offer non-hormonal, hormonal, in-office options, surgical options to make your menstruation more manageable. A hormonal IUD (Mirena or Kyleena) may be recommended. We offer inhaled-analgesia for a more comfortable experience with insertion of your IUD. Surgical options include; - Hysteroscopy D&C (dilation and curettage) for investigation and removal of polyp/fibroid - Endometrial ablation (Novasure) - Hysterectomy. We will discuss what option would best suit your individual needs.

Vulva Disorders

Assessment and management of vulva disorders and discomforts including: - Skin conditions (eg lichen sclerosus, dermatitis). - Infections (eg recurrent thrush or BV, STIs) - Pre-malignancy (vulvoscopy and excision high grade VIN). - Surgical excision vulva lesions.
